How much are MCT Monthly Passes?
$37.50 for an MCT Local Pass / $50 for an MCT System Pass

What’s the difference between a “Local” pass and a “System” pass?
MCT System passes can be used on all MCT routes, except for the Muny or Rams Express. MCT Local passes are $12.50 cheaper, but can not be used on Express or EZ Ride routes.

MCT Local Monthly Pass ($37.50)
Good for unlimited rides during the specified month and year on MCT Shuttles, and MCT Cross County buses. (Routes 1, 2, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 19)

MCT System Monthly Pass ($50)
Good for unlimited rides during the specified month and year on MCT Shuttles, MCT Cross County, MCT Metrobus, MCT Express. (Routes 1, 1X, 2, 3X, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 12X, 13, 14, 14X, 15, 16, 16X, 18, 18X, 19)

Where can I buy Passes?
Online: At www.mct.org. Passes can be bought on-line with a credit card or a form can be completed, printed and mailed with payment (See “By mail” instructions below).

By mail: Pick up a brochure on any MCT bus, transfer station or distribution location in Madison County, fill it out the form and mail in with check or money order made payable to “Agency for Community Transit” to:

What benefit is there from buying a monthly pass?
Please make checks to: Agency for Community Transit.

Purchase the pass once and use it all month.
No need to find exact change to pay daily fares.
Save money: Express riders who use the bus every weekday will save nearly $15 /month.

Can I use MCT Monthly Passes for Metro (Bi-state) buses or MetroLink?
No. MCT Monthly Passes are only valid on Madison County Transit vehicles.

Can I use MCT Monthly Passes for ACT Paratransit trips?
No.

Can I use MCT Monthly Passes for Rams or Muny Express?
No.

Is there a discounted pass for elderly / disabled passengers?
There is no discounted PASS for elderly and disabled passengers however, they only pay half-fare when paying cash upon boarding the bus (with a valid senior or disabled ID).

Is there a discount for students?
No. However, Madison County youth, 18 and under can purchase an MCT Summer Youth Pass for unlimited rides in the summer months. (Memorial Day thru Labor Day).

Can drivers accept money for passes?
No.

Do I have to remove the pass from my wallet if the driver asks?
Yes. The driver has the right to hold the pass in his or her hand to verify that it is valid.

If I transfer from MCT to Metro and I have a MCT Monthly Pass, how much is a transfer?
$0.50 for adults, $0.25 for elderly/disabled with an ID and children 5-12.

What happens if I lose my pass?
A lost pass will not be refunded, and a new pass will not be issued.

What’s the earliest I can purchase a pass?
Monthly passes can be purchased for the next month as early as the 15th of the previous month.

What’s the latest I can purchase a pass for this month?
The 14th is the last day that passes will be offered for the pass month. For example: September 14 is the last day September Monthly Passes will be sold.

Can I bring a friend or family member and have them use the pass as well?
No. The pass is for one person. A guest will have to have their own pass or pay the fare.

Even if the driver knows I have a pass, do I have to show it?
Yes. It’s the responsibility of the driver to see each pass at every boarding. And it’s the responsibility of the rider to have their pass with them, or they must pay the fare.

My pass has been cut in half, can I tape it together and still use it?
No. Torn or damaged passes are not valid.
