MCT ROLLS OUT AUGUST SERVICE CHANGES
Bus Route and Schedule Changes Take Effect August 14, 2011
GRANITE CITY, ILL., AUGUST 10, 2011 . . . As part of its regular August Service Change, Madison County Transit (MCT) will make minor route and schedule adjustments, effective Sun., August 14, 2011. The adjustments will improve access to area
employment centers, schools and residential areas. In addition to the service changes, new guidelines for the MCT Senior Free Ride ID will also take effect on Aug. 14 (see below). Upcoming service changes include the following:
- #2 Granite City Shuttle: Add an early morning trip to serve 6 a.m. shifts at Amsted Rail.
- #4 Madison- Edwardsville: Re-route to serve Madison High School on Farrish.
- #8 Central Shuttle: Add Saturday service to the Woodview Court Apartments in Alton.
- #12 Bethalto Shuttle: Eliminate two unproductive trips on Ninth Street in Wood River.
- #17 Edwardsville – SIUE Shuttle: Re-route to travel on Lewis Road to and from SIUE.
- #18 Collinsville Regional: Shift the 5:17 a.m. trip back 5 minutes to meet MetroLink Trains.
- #19 Collinsville Regional: Shift the 4:55 a.m. trip back 5 minutes to meet the #18.
New timetables dated “August 14, 2011” are available at MCT Stations, on MCT buses, on-line at www.mct.org and at locations throughout Madison County.
Changes to Senior Free Ride Guidelines: Effective Aug. 14, MCT Senior Free Ride IDs are only available for MCT District seniors whose annual income is below a pre-determined level. To obtain a Senior Free Ride ID, seniors must first register with the State
of Illinois, either on-line at www.cbrx.il.gov or by phone, 1-800-624-2459. Seniors whose income exceeds the requirements may obtain a MCT Half Fare ID. For details about MCT services please call (618) 931-7433,

Madison County Transit (MCT) provides multi-modal transportation services for the people of Madison County, Illinois. MCT operates a fixed-route bus service, connecting to MetroLink; express weekday commuter service directly to and from downtown St. Louis;
and seasonal express service to the Rams games and the Muny. For elderly and disabled residents who are unable to use the fixed-route buses, MCT provides complementary paratransit bus service. MCT is also responsible for the construction and maintenance of more
