MCT TO HOST PUBLIC MEETING WITH METRO
Collaborative Meeting on Transit’s Future will be Informational and Interactive
GRANITE CITY, ILL., October 29, 2009 . . . Madison County Transit (MCT) will host a public meeting on Tuesday, November 17 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the MCT Edwardsville Station to gather public comments about the future of public
transportation in Madison County. Planners from Metro (formerly Bi-State) will also be on-hand to gauge opinions about transit services in St. Louis and St. Clair County. The public meeting will be “open-house style” so guests can arrive anytime
between 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. where they will have an opportunity to speak with MCT and Metro planners about current service levels, future service enhancements, proposed alignments, enhanced transit amenities, prospective destinations and other issues.
The public is invited to provide feedback and make suggestions about MCT and Metro services.
“The purpose of this open house is to encourage Madison County residents to think about the future of transit and to gather feedback on a variety of service-related issues,” said MCT Managing Director Jerry Kane. “We’re pleased to use this open house
as an opportunity to collaborate with Metro as they develop a Long Range Transportation Plan for the entire St. Louis region.”
