“Drivers with perfect safety records are not only properly responding to situations on the road, they’re also acting according to their training and anticipating the actions of other motorists,” said Pam Ruyle, MCT Manager of Fixed Route Operations.
The award is named in honor of former MCT Board Chairman Nelson “Nellie” Hagnauer, who was instrumental in the development of MCT’s safe and efficient system of multi-modal transportation services. In addition to his years with MCT, Hagnauer was Granite City Township Supervisor for 35 years and served on the Madison County Board for 41 years, 24 years as Chairman.
“This award pays tribute to Nelson Hagnauer, an individual who exemplified public service in all facets of his life,” said MCT Managing Director Jerry Kane. “It is conferred upon those employees whose service to MCT exceeds expectations and creates a higher standard for all to follow.”
