MCT OFFERS STUDENT MONTHLY BUS PASSES AGAIN THIS SCHOOL YEAR
Madison County K-12 Students Ride MCT for Just $15 a Month
GRANITE CITY, ILL., AUGUST 27, 2012 . . . Madison County students in the Kindergarten through 12th grade now
have the opportunity to purchase a Madison County Transit (MCT) Monthly Pass for just $15 a month, during the school
year. Beginning in September, the “MCT Student Monthly Pass” provides unlimited rides each calendar month (September
through May) on MCT Shuttle, MCT Cross County, and MCT Regional routes. MCT Student Monthly Passes for September are on sale now.
“Last year, Student Monthly Pass boardings accounted for more than 13,000 rides on MCT buses during the school year,”
said MCT Managing Director Jerry Kane. “This pass program creates access for Madison County students to classes,
after-school activities, co-op programs and jobs.”
MCT Student Monthly Passes can be purchased in three ways:
- Online at www.mct.org, with a credit or debit card.
- In person at the MCT Base of Operations in Granite City with a check, cash, credit or debit card.
Granite City School District students can also purchase passes at Granite City High School.
- By mail with a check made payable to ‘Agency for Community Transit’ for $15 sent to: Madison County
Transit, c/o Student Pass, One Transit Way, PO Box 7500, Granite City, IL 62040.
Individuals purchasing the pass by mail or in person should also include the student’s name, school, grade and name of a parent or guardian.
Students may be asked to show a school ID when riding MCT with the Student Monthly Pass. The equivalent fare media, the MCT Local Monthly

Madison County Transit (MCT) provides multi-modal transportation services for Madison County, Illinois. MCT operates a fixed-route bus service,
connecting to MetroLink; express weekday commuter service directly to and from downtown St. Louis; and seasonal express service to the Rams games
and the Muny. For elderly and disabled residents who are unable to use the fixed-route buses, MCT provides complementary door to door service.
MCT is also responsible for the construction and maintenance of more than 100 miles of bikeways that comprise the MCT Trails system, as well as
overseeing RideFinders, the St. Louis region’s FREE carpooling and vanpooling program.
